Going like a train....

17.00 (10 and a half hpurs with a few faffing stops and a truly
dreadful lunch ) 240miles done - Frazer Nash going like a train...
Need to do some routine maintenance. Piccy of jon & car enjoying the
break from the road. And OMG it was sunny this afternoon... Could this
be a holiday?

10am having driven since 6.30am.... Croissants and café au lait...

Here's a photo of Jon with one of two surviving WWII Tiger tanks...
For those familiar with the blog/ or history we broke down here in
2000 and were resued by Monsieurx Rideux by Willys jeep & trailor to
his amAzing garage and collection of WWII Normandy vehicles. Secretly
I think Jon was in love with the Schwimmwagon... And he was heart
broken to find the garages gone( new flats!) the house locked up and
news that Monsieur had died 18months ago. So here's the tiger tank
with the schnell anzani that we visited at 9 this morning

Portsmouth ferry at 11pm

Good journey to Portsmouth 2hrs (in the rain) & there were 7 Nashes
parked up at the pub in Portsmouth ...they're off to le havre on the
official route... We may never see them again....

There was a break in the weather so we made a break for it....

Was summoned to DATs tonight to pick up a solid copper gasket he'd
found and given strict instructions of it's preparation......

04/04/2009 2 weeks until we get the ferry...

Tomorrow the Anzani starts it's journey South.  First to Worcester for David and Lucy's wedding and then down to Bath where the car will stay until the 18th June.....

The last five blog updates were sent from my iphone so i can send photos and info from the trip and it's all quite simple... so the test live updates were from JBs garage in 'uddersfield where I assisted James in shuffling someshim. 

There was a decison that the crownwheel was "on to tight", or "the mesh needed to be reduced" so as to "increase the back lash".... "your gears really shouldn't be too tight" and that was just JB! .  Here's JB showing the marking of the teeth after we moved the 5 thou of shim from the near side to the offside of the car.  Here's the special paint on the pinion

I had a fantastic day assisting JB.  Lunch from CB and the goslings (and of course young H) were all very cute.

Finished and car back together at 17.35...

Great days work but do i look as tired as i felt!
