Well tried removing the pedal from the shaft but NOT could only get it to move slightly.
So decided to remove the whole thing ... which did also require removing that irritating spare wheel brakcet might take that off clean it up whilst its partially off. Here it is in the vice
Yes you are definitely going to need a new shaft.
I would take the whole lot to JB and get a quote,or a local engineering firm.This is not precision engineering justifying top nash fettler rates....

Brackets now bushed, and new shafts fitted too, for brakes and clutch. These are cold drawn seemless tube.
I'd like to see the look on their faces at the local engineering firm, and hear their expletives.
Tell Nash husband it was a precision engineered job, with top Nash fettler rates well justified, yet it still came in on quote. If he has no such decent Nash fettlers down South who he can trust, he is very welcome to call me.
